Privacy Policy
How information shared through LuisDrive is collected, used, stored and protected.
LuisDrive does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Information Collected
Information reaches LuisDrive in two ways. Most of it is provided directly, through a quote request, an account signup or a message sent from the contact page. The rest is gathered automatically by the website as pages load.
- Identity details such as first name, last name, email address and phone number
- Vehicle and driving details supplied while building a quote, including the type of vehicle, its usual use and the drivers attached to it
- Coverage preferences such as selected limits, deductible choices and optional protections
- Account credentials, stored in a protected form rather than as plain text
- Technical information including browser type, device type, general location derived from a network address and the pages visited
Sensitive financial details are never requested through the forms on this website.
How Information Is Used
Details are used to answer the request that prompted them and to keep an account working as expected. That covers preparing quotes, presenting coverage options, maintaining policy records, responding to messages and sending the notices tied to an active policy.
Aggregated and anonymised information is also used to understand which parts of the website are helpful and which need reworking. That analysis never identifies an individual visitor.
Consent For Messages
Consent boxes on the signup page are optional and separate. Agreeing to service messages does not enable marketing messages, and declining marketing does not affect the ability to request a quote or hold a policy.
Message frequency varies with account activity. Standard message and data rates may apply. A reply of STOP ends messages from that number, and a reply of HELP returns assistance information. Marketing email carries an unsubscribe link in every send.
Sharing With Third Parties
Information is shared only where it is needed to deliver what was requested, and only with parties bound to protect it.
- Insurance carriers and underwriters reviewing a quote request or issuing a policy
- Service providers handling hosting, email delivery, message delivery and security monitoring
- Claims administrators and repair networks when a claim is being processed
- Legal or regulatory authorities where disclosure is required by law or needed to protect against fraud
None of these arrangements permit a third party to use the information for their own marketing.
Cookies And Tracking
Cookies keep a session active, remember form progress and record which pages get used most. Browser settings can block or clear them at any point. Blocking cookies is allowed, though saved progress and signed in sessions will not survive a page reload once they are turned off.
Data Security
Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored on systems with restricted access. Credentials are protected using one way hashing. Access is limited to the people who need it to carry out a specific task.
No system connected to the internet can promise perfect security. If a breach affects personal information, notice will be given in line with the requirements that apply.
Data Retention
Quote information is held while it remains useful for comparison and follow up. Policy and claim records are held for the period required by insurance and tax rules. Once a retention period ends, records are deleted or stripped of anything that identifies a person.
Your Choices And Rights
Depending on the state of residence, rights over personal information may include the following.
- Requesting a copy of the personal information held
- Correcting details that are wrong or out of date
- Requesting deletion where no legal duty requires the record to be kept
- Withdrawing consent for marketing messages without affecting an active policy
- Asking that information not be sold or shared, which is already the standing practice here
Requests can be made using the contact details in the final section and are answered within the timeframe the applicable law allows.
Children's Privacy
This website is meant for adults aged eighteen or older. Information is not knowingly collected from anyone below that age. If such information is discovered, the record is removed.
Changes To This Policy
This policy is revised when practices change or when new rules require it. The effective date at the top marks the current version. Continued use of the website after a revision means the updated policy applies.
